The PiP works is a creative hub dedicated to supporting work in progress across poetry and performance. We value process as much as outcome, helping artists move from initial concept to live performance by providing support and space to develop meaningful, original work.
PiP stands for Poetry in Performance, reflecting our passion for words and how they live and evolve when spoken, staged and shared with an audience. We run regular workshops where artists can experiment with new material, receive constructive feedback, and build work for presentation at our annual festival.
Mentorship is central to what we do. We connect emerging artists with experienced practitioners who volunteer their time and expertise, providing guidance on both creative and professional development to strengthen our creative community. Improvisation is a central method within The PiP Works’ approach, used to encourage flexibility, responsiveness, and collaboration.

A fresh reimagining of Schubert's haunting song cycle, uniting a baritone, a filmmaker and a dancer in a performance that brings music to life through movement and visual storytelling.

Within the walls of an all-women's psychiatric hospital, stories of love, loss, and creative longing unfold, where even food becomes a form of expression. Nothing is quite as it seems, and a twist looms.

For their first collaborative venture, the PiP works Trustees present a unique interdisciplinary performance of dance, music, opera and poetry.
